Pakistan’s victory by 6 wickets at Barbados owed to Shadab Khan’s extraordinary bowling. He took 3 wickets in 4 overs and gave away just 7 runs. This 18-years-old young leg-spinner restricted the hosts to a small total of 111 for 8. It didn’t prove a difficult target to achieve for Pakistan who won by 6 wickets with 17 balls still remaining.

In previous game, Pakistan set a trap for West Indian players by using their spinners in the Powerplay which mounted pressure and the batsmen were forced to play false shots. If West Indies have learnt any lesson from their mistakes, they will, most likely, respond by playing in a more responsible manner.

West Indies captain Jason Holder believes that their lost previous T20 because their batsmen have to face unfamiliar bowlers like Shadab. He thinks there was much to learn at Barbados.

Both the teams will play a three-match ODI series after completing the contests in T20 format. West Indies occupy the 9th spot on ICC ranking with 84 points. They are five points behind Pakistan who need to improve so as to automatically qualify for the World Cup.
