Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 1st Test Day 5 Highlights Today 02 Oct 2017

Watch Pak vs SL cricket highlights today on 02-10-2017. The match seemed to be going as a usual, peaceful game of test cricket between the two sides before the Pakistani bowlers sprinkled spice by sending four Sri Lankan batsmen back to pavilion. The lead role in these wickets was played by Yasir Shah, the bamboozling leg-spinner, who removed two Sri Lankan batsmen, one being the skipper Dinesh Chandimal himself. The pitch is dry and remains a treat for spinners. It becomes clear by glancing at the scorecard that the spinners are having complete fun at the pitch, Herath and Yasir in particular.

Dinesh Chandimal once again came down to bat at a time when his army was in trouble. But this time, Yasir did not let him rescue the drowning Sri Lankan ship and he got dismissed off Yasir at 7 off 30 deliveries. This means that the top four batsmen of Sri Lanka have been sent back to the pavilion and now the wicket-keeper batsman Dickwela, and Perera are remaining and it is to be seen whether or not they can salvage the sinking ship of their side. Currently at the crease, stays the nightwatchman Suranga Lakmal, supporting Kusal Mendis, who is at 16 off 63 balls.

The Pakistani speedsters have been unable to find wickets. Asad Shafiq provided a breakthrough, Yasir Shah perished two of the opponent’s batsmen, Haris Sohail took one wicket yet. But Hasan Ali and Amir failed to get any wickets on day 4. Although much of the Sri Lankan innings is still left, but a glance at the Sri Lankan first innings shows that Amir was unable to dislodge any batsman then too. Hasan did get two wickets, but mostly the spinner’s domination has been witnessed. The pitch is helping the spinners in keeping the task for the batsmen pretty difficult.

Sri Lanka still have a good opportunity to pile up score. If their batting order succeeds in reserving the remaining wickets on the final day, draw might be in the box as well, although it is highly unlikely. On the contrary, if Pakistani bowlers keep playing with the same confidence that they did on day 4 and remove the remaining Sri Lankan batsmen, victory might not be very far away for them.
