Watch Pakistan vs Australia 3rd Test day 5 highlights today on January 7, 2017. PAK vs AUS cricket highlights today. With 315 and 1 for 55 by the end of the 4th day of the 3rd test match at Sydney, Pakistan has in hand one day of a game and 9 wickets, to hit 410 runs to beat Australia. A fine inning by David Warner, Steven Smith, and Usman Khawaja ensured the host’s team raise the target for Pakistan to 465. Though whole of the first session was wasted again today, the hosts speeded their run rate to as high as 241 in just 32 overs.
The worst over for Pakistan was a single over by Yasir Shah giving 22 runs. The Australian captain closed the innings with more 16 overs left in the remaining of the day and another 98 overs tomorrow, on the last day of the match. The innings were declared with a sixer hammered into the stands, much to a big cheer from the crowd. Earlier to that, when Warner made an exit, he earned a second standing ovation in this test match in Sydney.
Pakistan did not begin its batting in a great spirit for the second innings, but soon Pakistan batsmen found some hope. It was only after 44 runs were made, the first and the only wicket of the day that fell. It was Hazlewood who got Yasir out of the field and without Matt Renshaw, who is not playing this match, Austalia is finding ways to mount bowling attacks on Pakistan. Towards the end, Warner got some slice of the action for himself and he bowled when aimed a smear attack on Wahab Riaz.
Pakistan has a mountain load of a target in front of them. Though they have plenty of wickets, as many as 9, in their hands, it’s not an easy target to go for. One thing is sure on Australia’s side tomorrow and that is a plenty of time to pursue a clean sweep in this series.
