Bangladesh vs New Zealand 1st Test Day 2 Highlights – 13-Jan-2017

Watch Bangladesh vs New Zealand cricket highlights today on January 13, 2016. BAN vs NZ highlights of second day of first Test played today at Wellington. Bangladesh did well yesterday despite constant disruption from rain which didn’t allow complete day’s play. First we watched aggressive batting performance from Tamim Iqbal who played like a limited-overs game. His 56 runs came from 50 balls and his innings included 11 fours. His batting was a treat to watch, especially after a poor performance in ODI and T20 matches.

Bangladesh is still in search of their first ever win against New Zealand. They are playing Test cricket after a while. Their last series was at home in previous year against England at home. They played well during this short series consisting of two matches but in the end they face defeat. This Test against Kiwis poses another serious challenge for them. They need just one victory to break the obnoxious spell of continuous defeats.

Yesterday Mominul Haque played superbly and remained unbeaten at the score of 64. Today a lot was expected of him but he could not add a single run to the preious score and was caught by wicket-keepr Watling off Southee’s ball. It was a big blow for the team and it added pressure on rest of the players.

Now a lot depends on Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim to develop a good partnership and pile up good healthy total in the first innings. They must look for getting some lead so as to hope for a victory in this first Test. In fact a total nearing 400 runs is the minimum requirement on this pith. It looks very hard job but they can accomplish it through sensible batting.
